My family, like many of yours, spends more time outdoors in beautiful Idaho weather and less time indoors. This means more time to work on the exterior of our home. If I’m being honest, as satiated as it grows our outdoor areas, it’s also a lot of work. It seems that we are constantly planting, dirt moving, watering, siphoning in our meadows, etc. With all this time I’ve been working outside for the past month, I’ve been glad I’ve been able to do a lot of shopping in one stop. Walmart. Walmart kills it out in the open air / yard section. No joke, I couldn’t stop “add to cart”. We are talking about gorgeous planters, outdoor furniture, pillows and other outdoor decorations. The price points are so great, you just want more! Plus, with loads of stuff shipped in 2 days, and free (orders + $ 35), you really need no thought. I recently worked on a small area of my balcony. It’s been a problem for me for quite some time because it’s a kind of weird space. It’s not that big, but it is part of a larger hallway. I needed to be balanced, but I stand apart. Here are 4 things I did to beautify this little outdoor area (and make it feel more “home”). Add a seating area. There is no point in creating a beautiful outdoor area if you cannot enjoy it! There should always be a place to sit. I am always a fan of classic rock. We live on a ranch and I love the traditional feel, but really, it fits almost any home style. Walmart has a lot of different seating options. Maybe you’d like a hammock, a double rocking chair, or a more modern metal chair set. No matter what you are looking for, it is a great starting option for creating that perfect area to enjoy. My family loved these rocking chairs. My husband and I found ourselves here several evenings, watching the kids playing and enjoying the beautiful sunset. The chairs themselves were easy to assemble and of good quality. Include throwable pillows, can you ever have enough pillows? No way! Whether indoors or outdoors, the pillows are the cherry on top and a great way to bring any space together. Plus, they are usually inexpensive and easy to change. You can really change the look of any area with a simple pillow swap! I fell in love with the design and texture of this outdoor pillow set! I felt it was the perfect mix of classics and modernity. The geometric design on one pillow versus the subtle dull color is perfect! Teal pad / engineering pad planter, planters, planters. Nothing makes me happier than planters filled with beautiful and colorful roses. I am sure you feel the same. Even though my flowers are just starting to bloom, we have a whole summer to enjoy, I was shocked at how much adorable plantation Walmart carried. From super modern to classic to farmhouse, they really have a lot. Many of them are available online, but I found more in the store! To be completely honest, I had a really hard time even choosing what I wanted and ended up going home with a little backyard too! I like to have a few different planters sizes and heights so I’m working with a few different levels. This galvanized planter is perfection. A more modern-legged galvanized tub is the perfect combination. It’s bigger, so I loved it as a focal point. I also found some smaller black planters, and added a bunch of pink flowers. Side note: Walmart also has a great garden section that has a great variety and better price points. 4. Take some indoor, outdoor decor. Sometimes I think I feel obligated by all the new outdoor decorating, but sometimes you can use what you have inside too! I always have a few lanterns inside, so why not bring the same idea outside? I grabbed a few different patterns of black lanterns and placed them beside the rockers on the floor. I also put those battery powered flameless candles inside and absolutely love the effect. At night I make them pound and it’s the sweetest touch. There are many patterns of lanterns here. I suggest getting a few different sizes so you get back some level. We are very excited to spend our summer evenings here. Reading books, sipping a cold diet coke, watching our kids ride their bikes … this space is now perfect for all of that thanks to all the cool things I found at Walmart. Create a space in your home that will help nurture those memories, too! (A cute shirt with puffed sleeves found here)
