My recipe is perfect for a family of 4, however you can easily double or triple the recipe for a larger family or party. Slider Sub Meatballs Because I’m a fan of easy and convenient recipes, I enjoy using Italian frozen meatballs. My kids just love them! They always come out tender and juicy. However, you can always use a homemade recipe or even a crock pot recipe. Since I made 8 meatballs, I cook 8 meatballs with 1/2 jar of marinara sauce. The best wraps to use on this slider are freshly baked rolls. You can find baked rolls in the bakery section or bread aisle of any grocery store. It’s square in size and perfect for small, hand-held sandwiches. Super Soft baked rolls and breads are perfect for this recipe. To start, preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Prepare a smaller, rectangular baking dish with a nonstick spray. For this 8-by-8 slider recipe I’m using an 11 x 7 plate, but anything 9 x 13 or smaller will work. If you are doubling the recipe, you can use a larger baking dish. The baking dish is simply used to heat up sandwiches, so use the size to fit the number of sliders you’re making. Meatball Slider Next, cut the roll in half and place the bottom pieces on the baking dish. Using a spoon, cover the bread with half a cup of ricotta cheese. You can use more or less ricotta as desired. If you’re using frozen Italian meatballs like we do, bake them for 20 minutes over a medium-low heat with 1/2 jar of marinara sauce (12 ounces). Put one meatball on each roll. Using the extra sauce in the skillet, add a little marinara sauce over each meatball. Sprinkle some grated basil and parmesan over the meatballs. Finally, cut two slices of mozzarella cheese into 8 small squares (each in half twice) and place on top of each meatball.
