CTEK launches new 4-socket EV charging solution

Vehicle charging specialist CTEK has launched a new four-socket electric vehicle (EV) charging solution that makes quick and cost-effective installation of robust and reliable charging networks easier than ever before. Developed by CTEK engineers at their Center for Innovation in Sweden, this unique solution features two dual-socket CTEK Chargestorm Connected 2 AC chargers mounted on steel carriers mounted on a standard 60mm shaft, so that four electric vehicles can be connected and charged at the same time. Since you only need to dig one hole and fix one pole in the ground for every four charging points, installation is faster, easier and more cost-effective, as well as saving space and greatly reducing building materials required. CTEK’s Chargestorm Connected 2 chargers and mounts can be used indoors and out, and are built with strong, high-quality components and materials for maximum reliability and reduced maintenance. The chargers themselves have a durable IK10/IP54-rated metal housing, designed to withstand Swedish winters, which protects against weather and deters vandalism. Arches and columns are made of galvanized steel. This high build quality also results in less downtime, which is a major frustration for electric vehicle owners, and in the unlikely event of any problems with CTEK chargers, 95% of them can be repaired remotely. This innovative, space-saving charging solution is ideal for small parking areas, including businesses looking to provide charging facilities to their customers, clients and employees, for larger facilities, such as major public parking lots, charging sets of four chargers can be networked together in up to to 500 individual chargers on 125 poles. This is especially useful in double-row parking lots, where the vehicle is parked “front to front”. The double mount also has enough space for the terminal block, where installers can hold power and data cables for an orderly and secure installation. Installers can also run power and data cables directly between networked Chargestorm Connected 2 chargers via a switchgear, saving time and cabling costs. CTEK chargers integrate seamlessly with other manufacturers’ chargers and systems through the Open Charge Point Protocol (OCPP). And with demand inevitably growing, more chargers can be added without the need to upgrade the system. It also comes with smart charging as standard, and supports up to 80 different charge profiles allowing drivers to choose the time, power, and length of charging. Craig Slater, Director of Sales at CTEK UK said: “A recent YouGov/CTEK survey revealed a gradual move away from home charging, with more than a third (37%) of electric vehicle drivers charging their vehicles in public places and at destinations such as supermarkets. , hotels and malls, and a 12% fee in business.1 “We hope this new back-to-back solution will provide a simpler and cost-effective way to meet this growing demand for public and destination fees, as well as provide an integrated solution for shared parking areas in residential developments.” For more information, visit the CTEK website.
