Summer is here, and we’re finally out again! So do bugs! We recently shared a delicious dinner drink recipe, and while enjoying one while out in the backyard, a bit of the syrup fell into my drink. That’s when I realized it was a great time to make great cupcake liners to keep bugs from enjoying my lovely drinks! Not only is it practical, but this tip is also a fun way to brighten the table! Cupcake Toppers Outdoor dining and entertaining can be a lot of fun during the warmer months, but those pesky flying insects often get in the way of a good time. Keep your sugary drinks and cocktails bug-free this year when you use this simple trick! You can use a variety of supplies depending on the size of the cups you plan to use, the type of drink served, and the age of the guests being served. Today, I made a drink for adults that doesn’t need a straw. For that, I used a festive cupcake topper and smaller cupcake liners in coordinating colors. Keep in mind that it’s super fun to color coordinate with the baking cups of your choice! Red, white, and blue would be so cute all summer long! Create a theme and have fun! You can use larger muffin cups for larger cups even coffee filters for something like a margarita cup. If you are interested in a delicious drink recipe called Malibu Bay Breeze, here is my recipe. Cupcake liners Start with a hole in the center of the cupcake liner. It is very easy to do this with a toothpick. Put the cover of the baking liner through the hole and then use a little hot glue to secure the tongs in place. I put glue on the inside (or bottom) of the lining. This part is optional, of course! But it’s good if everything is safe for the lid of the drink. One reader suggested sticking a penny under the cupcake liner to keep the wind from pushing it away. I just love how smart you guys are! If you’re serving drinks to kids or a cocktail that needs a straw, replace the top of the cupcake with a straw in the middle! Very beautiful! We hope you, your family and friends can make up for lost time together and have a great summer!
