Oh my God … what was 2020. I thank GOODNESS for this blog, Smart School House. It was the structure and focus that kept me going this year. This is a summary of 2020! I can’t wait for things to return to normal. Like everyone, I have had ups and downs. It looks like there were more negatives, can you relate? Sometimes I find myself consciously focusing on trying to stay positive and patient … and it wasn’t easy. When I get frustrated, I always try to remind myself of what I should be grateful for. 2020 really challenged me with this mindset. I would like to thank you for keeping coming back, for subscribing, following me on Facebook, Pinterest, Instagram or TikTok (maybe all of them) because you helped me so much. I have a gift for you because I believe we all need to feel comfortable in this New Year. If nothing else, let’s be comfortable flying in 2021. This is a dossier of everything from health, education, my job and personal relationships into question this year. Since February, I have felt as if wherever I went, I was unexpectedly challenged. I thought it was tough in March when our schools closed and I was struggling to teach my kids from home. It made it nearly impossible for me to continue working and it was very impossible to “teach” without the teaching guides, lesson plans, or understanding of the process in which they were put into place. That was the reality for many of you, too. However, this was just the beginning of 2020. Did you ever feel that you couldn’t make everyone happy literally in every single situation all day long? I know many of you can call. Lately, all I want to do is be warm, remind myself of the blessings we have, and not set too many expectations in the near future. It’s okay, things don’t have to be perfect … better days are coming! Because I felt I have been in contact with a lot of you this year, I have to thank you. Thank you for your support. Smart School House. I’ve tried hard to understand your circumstances and create content with that in mind this year as well. Thank you for the kind emails, comments and messages. Thanks for coming to Smart School House knowing you’ll always find fun recipes and crafts to keep your time busy. My gift to you This blog was originally created as a way for me to focus my energy during a challenging time in my life and I feel extremely fortunate to have a space on the internet to share great content. You’re keeping me going 🙂 Over 20 million of you attended Smart School House in 2020. Some of the most popular blog posts with you this year include: Chocolate Chip Cookies, Ideas for Kids, Cheesecake Sugar Cookie Bars (which I made for my husband over his birthday In quarantine in May), taco lasagna … and more recently a chipotle enchilada tortilla. Lately, I’ve been spending 24/7 in my pajamas. The smallest things like styling my hair, applying mascara and spraying perfume on myself make me happy. Since I know we’ll be home here in Southern California, I stocked up on relaxing clothes that make me feel good. I don’t want tight clothes, I don’t want to feel like I’m wearing pajamas all day, and I don’t want materials that don’t make me feel good. If you enjoy luxurious relaxation wear, Cozy Earth Bedding has been very generous to Smart School House fans and followers. Only we are getting 50% off their fancy products. Feel free to share this discount code with any of your friends or family who might appreciate it. We all deserve to welcome in 2021 with a relaxed and warm mindset.
