Hanging Rainbow Saint Patrick’s Day Craft – Lesson Plans

0

This Saint Patrick’s Day rainbow craft from 123 Homeschool 4 Me is designed to be a simple craft for toddlers to work on their paper chain making skills and adding gold to the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. Motor skill builders, but when I saw this project I immediately thought it could be a STEM project as well. How strong is the paper chain? How much weight can you hold hanging from the ceiling or holding it in your hand? If you stuck the coins into the pot instead of paper, how many coins would you keep before the chain broke? Does making the chain longer make it stronger? What if you used strips of poster board instead of construction paper, or of course a craft could just be a craft, but it’s fun to think of the instructional activities that take you into the world of engineering and set expectations and experiment too. You make it happen, head over to the blog for details and links to the many printable activities for St. Patrick’s Day.[Photo: 123 Homeschool 4 Me.]
