I want to convert my “garage” into a third room. Help figure out the first steps forward: building

Hi everyone, I have a detached garage that is at least 60 years old which is honestly a waste of space outside of being a place where I can put my shit. The plot is small, so I try to increase the space. I also have a baby coming and will need a third parent in law/office room for my wife. I don’t know anything about construction, or if things are OK, etc, but I think I need a good foundation and at least a solid wooden skeleton, which I think I have. I’m looking for some advice and emphasizing it. The “walls” are merely external strips. I wonder if I could put in some insulation, drywall, new exterior strips or something and call it a day. Basically, are wooden structures good enough, more or less, to build on? You want to keep the roof / as much of the structure as possible to keep costs down. https://imgur.com/gallery/7LDqa4t
