Job-based training provider, JTL, encourages electricians to upgrade their skills and knowledge to ensure they can operate efficiently in potentially explosive atmospheres with the support of the certification body, CompEx (part of the JTL group). By appealing to those fully qualified, newly qualified, or still in training to become electricians, the ExF Foundation qualification offered by CompEx provides commercial professionals with the opportunity to develop their specialist knowledge, enabling them to broaden their career horizons and their earnings potential. The only theoretical course, which takes one to two days to complete, provides electricians with a basic awareness and understanding of the key aspects of working in and around hazardous areas. It also serves as a basis for those who wish to advance their knowledge before undergoing more in-depth CompEx qualifications. Paul McGuire, Chief Operating Officer at JTL commented: “Having a CompEx certification is a must for trade professionals working in hazardous areas. From safer working conditions to protecting your business reputation, everyone is safer certified. Staff have a basic awareness and understanding of key aspects of working in and around dangerous areas. Since the start of the pandemic, many CompEx centers have been offering online learning for the ExF course. To complement this distance learning provision, CompEx has also introduced a new remote version of the ExF assessment which can now be completed online at Comfort and safety in the learner’s home or workplace. ” Joining the JTL Group in 2014, CompEx has been recognized as an international scheme for verification and certification of employees who have worked in explosive atmospheres for nearly 30 years.
