Marshall-Tufflex announced that its PVC-U cable management products were manufactured using 74% recycled materials last year. This achievement is a significant milestone for the company as part of its mission to create positive change in the industry, towards at least 50% recycled materials in cable management products by 2028. UK plastic extrusion leader, British manufacturer Marshall – Tufflex uses recycled material It has recycled waste PVC-U windows in the manufacture of its products for more than 25 years and in 2020, this figure has reached an average of 74%. Impressively, all Marshall-Tufflex white, mini and super cable lengths are currently manufactured using 100% recycled materials. Thanks to the company’s continued commitment to recycling, thousands of tons of recycled PVC-U are now used when manufacturing white PVC-U pipe and tube products. This news comes on the heels of the shutdown of NHS Nightingale hospitals. Last year Marshall-Tufflex supplied PVC-U cable management systems to a number of NHS Nightingale hospitals and was recognized by the British Chamber of Commerce as a ‘UK Business Champion’ for their work on the project. Designed to provide expected capacity to patients during the COVID-19 pandemic, some hospitals are now closed and in keeping with the company’s ethos of recycling, cable systems have been removed at some sites for recycling. The reclaimed PVC-U pipe has been granulated and processed through a compound to remove any impurities, resulting in a recycling of PVC-U that will be used in the new cable or duct systems. To ensure consistent quality across all of its products, Marshall-Tufflex takes material samples from the production line every 10 to 20 minutes to check for consistency in color and surface finish. “At Marshall-Tufflex, we believe that everyone has a responsibility to reduce their environmental impact, and by pushing for higher recycled content in our products, we hope to inspire others in the industry to join in this vision that managing PVC-U cables can help.” MD, the managing director of Marshall-Tufflex Corporation, said products that are installed in buildings will be manufactured using recycled materials by 2028. “We are very proud to announce that our PVC-U products are manufactured using 74% recycled materials in the In 2020, we will continue to innovate and develop new ways to produce superior products that maintain their high quality while reducing our impact as a company.” Marshall-Tufflex is at the forefront of cable management innovation and is the UK’s number one manufacturer and supplier of cable management solutions.
