The new electric vehicle (EV) charging point protectors are part of a specialist Brandsafe safety and shock protection kit identified for Northeast Amazon’s warehouse and new distribution center. The move sees Brandsafe supply impact-resistant poles, poles, highly visible HLGV and wheel stance to provide improved levels of safety and protection for the electric vehicle charging point in the 148,477-square-foot logistics area of Follingsby Park in Gateshead. The work also certifies that the company, working on the product specification side with SMR Architects and the main contractor TSL, provides consulting and project design along with a package of after sales and support services. Gateshead is part of Amazon’s plans to boost distribution activities in the Northeast, and to boost services for millions of customers across the region. The facility, which is set to employ around 1,000 people when it opens in 2022, is expected to function as a freight consolidation center, with heavy trucks delivering goods from large storage facilities and trucks before distributing them to the local area. Armco bars and guardrails that feature integrated safety ends, corners and mailing covers along with pedestrian handrails, polycarbonate bar protectors, security cages and fences, and bicycle shelters are among the hundreds of equipment items also installed by the Brandsafe service team, to meet the requirements of Safety requirement and impact protection around the site. It is manufactured at the company’s Milton Keynes site and involves close collaboration between product suppliers and contractor teams as part of a broad business scope to provide additional services and expertise for safety planning. This is the latest success for Brandsafe, which has maintained growth and expansion following a slew of new ventures and a strong order book for the next 12 months.
