Industrial enclosures must be durable, but also flexible enough to create the design appropriate to application requirements. With a wide range of options available for the industrial GEOS range, the new Spelsberg component now making specification and selection makes the job faster and easier. Chris Lloyd, Managing Director of Spelsberg UK, explains the benefits of the GEOS container configuration tool. It is crucial that the industrial packaging is strong enough to protect often sensitive components; Which is usually electrical in nature. Industrial and outdoor environments present challenging conditions, ranging from the potential for high degree of entry and temperature fluctuations, to the challenges of variable weather or potential for impact. Spelsberg’s GEOS industrial case is designed for the mission and is durable enough for a wide range of environments and applications. As a result, there is a host of potential uses, each requiring its own specifications and options. While Spelsberg engineers are always available to speak with customers through specifications, we still want to provide customers with the tools that enable them to quickly locate their enclosure. The GEOS container component is aimed at specifiers and designers who know what they’re looking for in a container and want to quickly find the best match. The first stage of the component, available on the Spelsberg website, involves choosing either a container or cabinet, followed by dimensions. The component then allows you to select all kinds of accessories available, from hinged doors, to partition walls to mounting panels. To check the design, the component also provides a 360-degree view with 3D zoom. The component will also pricing the box and accessories so that the order is sent directly to Spelsberg. The configurator also features an optional configuration assistant that takes the user through steps to ensure all possible design considerations are covered, from door opening to condensation. This means that a customer, whatever their level of experience, can use the config tool to control their design. The component is the same tool Spelsberg engineers use daily to design their GEOS container layout. The GEOS containers themselves are constructed from high-strength polycarbonate for durability. This means that GEOS has an impact rating of IK09 – one of the highest in industry classifications available – and offers IP67 ingress protection. In the event that more customization of the case or cabinet is required, such as additional holes for cable entry, Spelsberg UK can implement precise CNC machining. On-site CNC machining service ensures Spelsberg provides accountability through customization and reduces the time and cost of hiring a third-party mechanic.
