In a compact yet powerful portable unit, Megger’s new DPM1000 digital clamp meter provides all the measuring capabilities that engineers and technicians routinely need when working in low-voltage power installations. The device features a built-in clip for safe and offline measurement of current, and has a large backlit display of 10,000 numbers that is easy to read even in dimly lit places. The DPM1000 also provides Bluetooth® connectivity, allowing the measured values to be streamed in real time to a smartphone or tablet running the Megger Link app, which is freely available on Android and iOS. The measured values can also be plotted in real time and stored on the connected device for later export to spreadsheets and reports. Exceptionally versatile, the DPM1000 measures AC and DC current up to 1000A, true AC voltage up to 1000V and DC voltage up to 1000V, and it has an AC + DC voltage measurement mode. In addition, it measures resistance up to 100k أوم and conveniently includes a buzzer to check continuity. Other features include phase rotation checking, as well as measurement of frequency, power and power factor, harmonics and harmonic distortion, amplitude and temperature. Peak holding, maximum / minimum retention and intelligent stabilization functions are also provided, along with facilities for measuring reactive load flow current and motors. There is also a torch that turns on automatically when using the clamp and non-contact voltage detection features. Megger’s Peter Wade said: “The engineers and technicians told us that they don’t like carrying a bag full of tools to make routine measurements on power installations, so we introduced the DPM1000 that gives them all the necessary functions in one machine. On top of that, we made it easy to use, convenient, and of course, As with every Megger product, they are designed and manufactured to meet the highest standards of safety, accuracy and durability. ” The new DPM1000 meets the requirements of CAT IV 600 V and CAT III 1000 V in line with IEC 61010 safety standard. The entire test wire, alligator clamp, temperature probe and battery is supplied in a protective carrying case. It has a three-year warranty as standard. More information on the DPM1000 can be found here.
