For our most valuable customers: The Root Electric team has followed closely the developments of the COVID-19 virus in recent days. Since our establishment in 1986, we have made it our business to be responsible members of our society, specifically in the ethical standards that we adhere to ourselves and our actions. Three pillars that are very important to our standard of ethics are: Ensuring the safety and well-being of our employees while on the job site; Strict adherence to government policy; We put our clients’ interests before our own. These standards are becoming more prominent, as we take into account our responsibility to restrict ourselves, our employees, and our customers to exposure to the pathogen of COVID-19. Electricians are listed as “critical infrastructure” for the energy sector in guidelines issued by the Department of Homeland Security. (See https://www.cisa.gov/energy-sector). These guidelines have been followed by all countries currently operating under the “shelter in the home” order. As such, Root Electric will continue to operate under the threat of a pandemic with the following adjustments to our normal procedures. We will keep in close contact with our staff, to ensure that they enjoy good health at the beginning of each day. We’ll help keep them up-to-date with the current guidelines for social distancing or quarantine established by the federal or state government. If the employee is not feeling well, he will be allowed sick leave without question. Either work for the day will be assigned to another employee still in good health, or it will be put on hold until Root Electric can fit the project into schedule. We will call our customers first thing in the morning on the scheduled day of installation or service to verify that they are still in good health and comfort to allow electricians into their homes. Cancellation or delay of work is permitted without penalty or forfeiture of deposit. Our electricians and estimators will clean their hands with disinfectant wet wipes before entering the job site and after leaving. Out of respect for our clients’ properties, we will not wipe the surfaces we have worked on unless the customer instructs otherwise. This is just to protect our customers’ property from damage or staining from an unsafe cleaner on the respective surface. We are pleased to use disinfectant provided by the customer in the area in which we operate in the manner specified by the customer. It is important to note that the nature of our work can irritate the lungs and nasal passages of anyone in good health. Some areas of our homes, including attics and crawl spaces, can cause coughing or sneezing due to the presence of cellulose or insulating glass fibers. In addition, dirt or pet dander can build up in areas of the home that are not regularly occupied by the customer, causing a similar reaction. If you hear one of our electricians cough or sneeze while on the job, these common household airborne particles are the likely cause, not COVID-19. We intend to continue serving our customers and our community in the most secure way. We intend to comply with all government directives regarding our industry as received. Due to the uncertain nature of the current environment, our policies may change suddenly and without warning, however, we will do our best to keep immediate customers informed. Please feel free to contact us directly if you have any questions or concerns. With Root FamilyRoot Electric
