The company was the first to bring a fire-resistant light fixture to market in 2005 with its award-winning, integrated LED-mounted Flameguard fixture, and now 16 years later, Ovia continues to invest in the range to increase features and benefits. All Flameguard downlights are now pre-wired with quick-fit Flow connectors that feature low-maintenance push terminals to provide another time-saving benefit to installers. In a speed test conducted by Ovia, installation times for these quick-fitting connectors were compared, against equivalent screw-in terminal versions and the quick-fitting versions were typically completed in about half the time. Products that incorporate Ovia’s award-winning Flameguard system technology, benefit from a 30, 60 and 90 minute fire rating – including I joists, metal web joists and hardwoods. They also have a sonic rating (0 dB) and are airflow compatible. Flameguard, when exposed to fire, forms a dense carbonaceous charcoal that separates and insulates the substrate from the heat of the fire. The extended seal prevents air flow through the void and thus starves the fires of the combustion vital elements. There are four versions of the Flameguard LED downlight in the range – GU10 cast fixed, GU10 fixed, GU10 adjustable and GU10 adjustable – and they are available in a choice of chrome, satin chrome and white. They have an IP rating of IP65 and come with a five-year warranty. For more information, call OVIA at 01827 300640, send an email, or visit the Ovia website.
