Robertson collaborates with the Scottish regulator

The Sustainable Growth Agreement (SGA) is the first in Scotland to focus on environmental performance across the entire supply chain. It aims to allow both organizations to develop new and innovative processes around supply chain engagement and development. Robertson has an extensive and diversified supply chain of suppliers and subcontractors covering all items in Scotland and the UK more broadly. It was recently verified as ‘carbon neutral’ and said it will continue to support the environment through its supply chain by setting clear standards, promoting awareness and knowledge, and increasing environmental performance. The partnership aims to help amplify support for companies in the Robertson supply chain to meet their environmental commitments and encourage them to go beyond compliance by supporting the transition to a net zero circular economy. The intent is to develop a sector where water, energy and materials are managed efficiently and carbon emissions are reduced – creating places where businesses, communities and nature can thrive within one planet’s resources. Terry Ahern, CEO of Ciba, said: “In 2018, I challenged business leaders in Scotland to take on the scale of the environmental challenge before us. I explained that only great leaders understand that it is an opportunity for their businesses and organizations to help solve it – while achieving economic success.” That’s why I am delighted that we have signed the Sustainable Growth Agreement with Robertson Corporation, a company that not only has great leaders like my fellow signers – but is a fantastic leader in its sector. This is the first agreement between SEPA and a Tier 1 construction, housing, infrastructure and support services company, and it creates a real opportunity to communicate the aspirations, challenges and opportunities of environmental performance in Scotland to a broad audience. “The eyes of the world will turn to Scotland this year in the run-up to COP26. They will see a country that has already committed to being a world leader in tackling climate change, that is already taking ambitious steps to advance a low-carbon economy and committed to creating new opportunities for a stronger and more inclusive economy and society. But we can. That we do more and we need more great leaders to have the leadership, courage, and vision to see and seize the opportunity. I hope SGA with Robertson will inspire others to answer the call as well.” Elliot Robertson, CEO of the Robertson Group, said: “At Robertson, we fully understand the role we play in ensuring a sustainable future. We have worked closely with SEPA for a number of years and are proud to formalize and build on our relationship by signing the SGA Agreement. Since a number of Over the years we have been committed to understanding and minimizing the impact our operations can have. As part of our 2030 Responsible Business Strategy, we have set ambitious goals and are confident that the work we will do through the partnership will help achieve these goals with the support of our supply chain.” We are confident that this agreement will have a positive impact on our operations and we look forward to meeting the challenges ahead and being part of delivering an inclusive zero-society.” Have a story?
