WernerCo’s Graduate Internship Program, as part of its ongoing commitment to support merchants and retailers, is now doing well with the first batch of graduates already embarking on their new careers as field sales merchants. Since their appointment in January, successful recruits, including 21-year-old Ewan Goodwin and 23-year-old Rachel Ochs, have been incorporated into the broader WernerCo Merchandising team. In addition to being the first point of contact for clients seeking further support, fresh graduates help clients take advantage of the points of sale and marketing materials available. Additionally, they also work with clients to develop sales strategies, helping them understand how inventory levels can help them increase sales value, while also supporting other daily product inquiries. When discussing his new role, Ewan said: “ I thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to work closely with the various vendors, understand their different requirements and priorities, and learn more about how to advise and work with them effectively. This role also provides excellent opportunities for development and travel with benefits like a company car, so even though I am still in the early stages of the program, I would definitely recommend the WernerCo Graduate Plan to anyone looking to pursue a career in commerce. The graduate employment drive is part of WernerCo’s ongoing commitment to invest in new talent, in order to provide a greater level of support to its employees. The scheme is a two-year long training program, which will enable candidates to effectively monitor products, participate in sales meetings and workshops, and produce store layout plans, ensuring that they are all prepared to enter the market as field sales merchants. They will eventually gain a solid knowledge of the WernerCo product and have the opportunity to build constructive relationships with their customers, and successfully serve customers by helping clients improve and store the right products for their stores. The program will also require graduates to be supported in other areas throughout the business. When discussing time spent in the customer care department, Rachel, who graduated from Sheffield Hallam University in 2018, said: “I got an insight into the shelf life of WernerCo products, from manufacturing and distribution to when they landed in the store. Customer Care Division Confidence to handle customer inquiries directly and proactively, with the assurance I know exactly who in the company should be contacted for assistance in providing relevant information. ”Paul Floyd, Commercial Head of Sales at WernerCo, commented:“ As we continue to Seeing good levels of growth throughout the business, with demand for products continuing to be on an upward trajectory, it is extremely important for us to ensure that we provide excellent levels of support to our stock vendors.
